Tattenhams Scout Shoots to Success

Date: 26th May 2019 Author: Alistair Tickett

After 1st Tattenhams success at the 42nd Scout National Championships, held at Bisley, Katy received an invite to the National Scout Rifle Squad which she was really excited about. She later found out that she was the only person in Surrey to be invited to the squad that year. Katy takes up the story:

“I had my first squad meet in December which I thoroughly enjoyed and learnt so many new things. I have been attending regular training sessions at Bisley and Wolverhampton since. At the end of January, I started attending training sessions in the hope to be selected to represent the Surrey Lions Airgun team in the Scout Inter-Counties competition. I was delighted to hear that I was selected for the team and I had a great time at the competition. Surrey came second! I am really looking forwards to my next competition.

I really want to get other scouts involved in target shooting. We want to encourage more Scouts from our district to attend the 43rd Scout National Championships which will be held on 18th-20th October. It is a very enjoyable experience!”

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
