St George’s Day Celebrations

Date: 24th Apr 2018 Author: Scout Websites

St George’s Day is one of the few occasions when every member of the district is present: Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers, Network and Leaders.  We all met outside Banstead Library on 22nd April from where we paraded down the High Street to the All Saints Church. The service included prayers and reading by the Beavers, Cubs, and Scouts as well as a talk on ‘Perception’ which many of the younger members had a chance to take part in.

Our District Commissioner, Jan Jobson, took the opportunity to celebrate the many achievements of members of Banstead Scouts over the past year and each section then renewed their promise. After the Parade had been dismissed, there was a bake sale to raise funds for the upcoming 2019 World Scout Jamboree in North America – Banstead’s members were selling Contingent merchandise such as badges as well as cakes and other treats.
