1st Tattenhams’ Summer Camp

1st Tattenhams  had a great camp this summer.  Katy takes up the story, “Camp was fun – we went to Polyapes Scout Camp site in Stoke D’Arbenon.

We had campfires that were really big and cubs and scouts took turns to do dances, sing songs, tell jokes and riddles.  We even had marshmallows and chocolate in ice cream cones that were melted in the fire for us to eat! On one of the days, we visited Bentley Copse Scout Camp site to do some different activities.  We went swimming, played laser tag and did the crate stacking challenge – it was really fun!

The next day we went to Brookland Motor Museum where we explored Concorde and learnt interesting facts about it. We all went in different vintage sports cars and experienced a hill climb with very fast drivers: I loved it! We went at breathtaking speeds and we couldn’t stop laughing!  I wish I could do it again!

On one of the days at camp we had lots and lots of rain but it didn’t stop us. The beavers came to visit us and they enjoyed playing games, making woggles and sitting around the fire with us and joining in with our songs.

I had a good time at camp especially when we went blackberry picking on our site. I cant wait for my next scouting adventure which is a flying experience at Redhill Aerodrome with the Surrey Scouts Air Activities Club in October!”
