Adult Training
Adult Training Scheme. To book a course, contact the relevant ADC for a booking form. Any payment required must be made with the booking. Late cancellations will result in a fee being issued but usually all standard training costs are paid by the County. Attendance in the course will provide the learning. This will then be monitored by the completion of course projects. Nights Away courses listed in a separate table and are compulsory for all Cub, Scout and Explorer Leaders. Beaver Leaders may replace this course with the Beaver Sleepover unit (See Beaver Leader Courses). New Leaders are required to complete Module 1 Essential Information within 3 months of their appointment, and also complete a Personal Learning Plan with their Training Adviser plus Module 3 Tools for the Job (Section Leaders) within 5 months of their appointment. Section Leaders and Assistants who have completed the above modules then have a period of 3 years in which to complete their training up to the award of their Wood Badge (awarded on successful completion of their formal training). Section Leaders and Assistants need to complete Modules 1 to 19 to achieve their Wood Badge; Managers (ACCs, DCs, GSLs, ADCs) etc have to complete Modules 1 to 10 and 20 to 26 to achieve the same result.
